What Republicans believe

Blather.net’s Damien DeBarra chews on the Daily Kos Republican poll–which reveals, among other things, that a staggering 79% of self-identified Republicans either believe that Obama is a socialist or aren’t sure that he’s not; 76% either believe that ACORN stole the 2008 election or aren’t sure that it didn’t. An interesting take from a European skeptic–click here to read–who wants to understand how the Republicans became so conspiratorial.

  1. This one makes me want to weep or throw-up:

QUESTION: Do you believe Sarah Palin is more qualified to be President than Barack Obama?

    YES: 53%
    NO: 14%
    NOT SURE: 33%

    1. Or if you want to keep driving yourself crazy, there’s this one:

QUESTION: Should public school students be taught that the book of Genesis in the Bible explains how God created the world?
      YES 77
      NO 15
      NOT SURE 8
      =

  2. Yeah, but last night during his Talking Points memo Bill O’Reilly said the poll is faulty because Daily Kos is left-wing psychos and what not.

    QED in O’Reilly world.

  3. But did you note the demographics? lol. 42% contacted in the south. 11% in the NE. As for the West, we got dumped on again. Can anyone think of reasons why living in Hawaii and Alaska should be catagorized together? Let’s see…tropical island, frozen tundra…hmm. 25% contacted.
