Deep Thought

Fomenting hatred is one way that the haves divide, distract, and otherwise manipulate the have-nots whose votes they require (or need to suppress). But it occurs to me that our need to be loved or at the very least validated on an individual level wreaks even more political havoc than our collective susceptibility to hate.
